Prior knowledge requirements
- Pupils know the pitches on the treble clef
- Pupils know that a sequence is a pattern repeated at a higher or lower pitch
- Pupils know how to write the main rhythmic values: semibreves, minims, crotchets and quavers
- Pupils know that music which proceeds to the neighbour note proceeds 'by step'
- Pupils know that music which moves over more than one note proceeds 'by leap'
