      Learning outcome

      I can decide when to pass and when to dribble the ball in a game situation with my hands.

      Key learning points

      1. Move: passing the ball with accuracy increases your chance of scoring.
      2. Move: changing speed and direction with accuracy when dribbling enables you to keep possession of the ball.
      3. Think: making the correct decision as to when to pass and when to dribble increases your chances of keeping possession.
      4. Feel: following the rules by going back to the start after being tagged shows you are being honest.
      5. Connect: playing fairly and consistently throughout a game demonstrates an understanding of the importance of fairness.

      Common misconception

      Some pupils neglect the value of, and need for teamwork, opting to try and dribble the ball each time they receive it.

      Encourage pupils to make the correct decisions as when to pass and when to dribble. Also ensure to implement rules where all pupils must touch the ball before scoring.

      Using mixed ability groups for the activities will allow pupils to learn from each other promoting inclusion and diverse learning opportunities.
