Common misconception
There can only be one correct interpretation of an action or image.
Interpreting meaning of a symbolic action can vary depending on your previous experience and opinions, so people may view it differently and draw various conclusions. The important thing is to be able to justify your interpretation.

By the teacher frequently modelling interpretations throughout the lessons, pupils will be more confident and able to express their thoughts and offer reasons behind their opinions.
