Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: successful attacks require controlled dribbling, passing and moving skills to create scoring chances.
  2. Think: deciding whether to dribble or pass into space helps our team to create attacks that result in scoring chances.
  3. Feel: encouraging our team members, even when they make a mistake, demonstrates self discipline.
  4. Connect: communication enables us to take the lead in ensuring the team is motivated and understands what to do.

Keywords

  • Scoring - something you focus on and aim for to try to reach or hit

  • Create - to make something new

  • Attack - to move toward the other team's goal to try to score points

Common misconception

Pupils just want to shoot and score. They forget to look up and check to see if they should pass or dribble.

Remind pupils that we only shoot when we are in a suitable position and should take our time to make decisions first.
