Key learning points

  1. Move: moving into suitable positions and using positive body language enables us to communicate with others.
  2. Move: clear demonstrations of the correct technique enable us to lead bodyweight exercises.
  3. Think: knowing how to use positive and constructive feedback requires reflection and helps peers to improve / progress.
  4. Feel: responding to the needs of peers is a good way to measure increased confidence in your own leadership ability.
  5. Connect: show respect for each other when trying to decipher the correct technique of a bodyweight exercise.

Common misconception

Pupils think leading is just about giving instructions.

A ledaer also requires active listening and the time and confidence to provide feedback on what has been completed well and how things can be improved.
