Why this why now

Pupils will already have developed their technique and understanding around body weight exercises and how to adjust a circuit training routine to maximise long term health and fitness benefits. They will combine this with ideas around effective leadership in a range of contexts. Later in health and wellbeing pupils will commit to a personalised fitness and learn more about nutrition, energy and the importance of hydration on physical and mental health.

Prior knowledge requirements

  • Pupils know communication has verbal and non verbal elements that are both equally important in motivating and engaging with others.
  • Pupils understand good leadership has an impact on performance.
  • Pupils are able to perform basic body weight exercises with safe technique.
  • Pupils show respect for each other by listening to each other.
