- Feel: offering suggestions to a group requires self-belief.
- Connect: group choreography involves continued cooperation.
Keywords
Complementary - combining in a way that enhances the qualities of another
Accuracy - precision in placement, positioning and/or timing
Collaboration - to work jointly, to cooperate
Common misconception
It is important that the pupils listen to the music before beginning to choreograph their dances.
Engaging pupils in the active content of the lesson is likely to improve motivation and levels of engagement. By playing the music in the background they will become familiar with it and allow it to inform the work they create.
Teacher tip
When working with cross curricular themes, use the natural inference of the words inherent in the content, e.g. pull and push infer effort as well as opposite directions. This can bring greater interest to the work as well as making the content more memorable for the performers and audience.
