Common misconception
Projection means that you have to look up.
Projection is effectively communicating a dance idea. This often involves looking outwards towards an audience but would not be appropriate if communicating a concept such a secrecy, nervousness or reluctance.
Teacher tip
Feedback to pupils can include describing their action, space, dynamics and/or relationships. You may wish to model an interpretation e.g. 'I think that looks like ... because ... '. You may also wish to reference their physical or expressive skills e.g. balance, control, focus or extension.
