Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: engaging your core muscles increases stability and balance when lifting heavier objects.
  2. Think: running style can be adjusted following the assessment of increased risk when carrying objects.
  3. Feel: using contrasting natural materials to produce artwork creates a sense of delight.
  4. Connect: using natural materials to create art is environmentally sustainable and is possible in a range of settings.

Keywords

  • Texture - the feel or appearance of surfaces, such as rough bark or smooth stones

  • Contrast - using differences in colour, shape or texture to highlight parts of the artwork

  • Composition - the overall arrangement of natural elements in the artwork

Common misconception

Individual objects can't be used to make art.

If we collect a range of materials in contrasting colours and various textures, we can combine them to produce a nice composition.
