- When school is inclusive, everyone can join in.
- To make someone feel welcome, we should listen, be kind, ask questions and invite them to play with us.
- We should celebrate everyone in our school.
Keywords
Welcome - to welcome someone is to happily invite them in and make them feel comfortable and as if they belong
Inclusive - making everyone feel welcome and part of the group, no matter who they are
Celebrate - to praise someone for who they are or something they have done
Common misconception
We only have to include people who are our best friends.
It is ok to have best friends and it is ok to like some people more than others. However, we should still work to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome and can be part of what's going on, as long as they are kind.
