Common misconception

Spanish -er and -ir verbs share the same endings in the present tense.

The verbs endings for Spanish -er and -ir verbs are the same for 'I', 'you (singular)', 'she', 'he', 'it' and 'they'. The 1st person plural ‘we’ ending for -er verbs is -emos, and for -ir verbs is -imos.
