Key learning points
- Spanish words ending in consonants other than -n and -s naturally have final syllable stress.
- If a word has final syllable stress and ends in -n or -s or a vowel, there will be an accent on the final vowel.
- To say 'my' before a singular noun, use 'mi', before a plural noun use 'mis'. Eg. 'mi revista' and 'mis zapatos'.
- To say 'your' before a singular noun, use 'tu', before a plural noun use 'tus'. Eg. 'tu familia' and 'tus amigos'.
- Adverbs of location are often followed by 'de'. For a singular masculine noun, change 'de' + 'el' to 'del'.
