Common misconception

In Spanish, 'tú' and 'tu' mean the same thing.

In Spanish, 'tú' and 'tu' do not mean the same thing. 'Tú' is a subject pronoun meaning 'you' (informal), whereas 'tu' is a possessive adjective meaning 'your' (informal).
