Why this why now

Throughout KS1 and KS2, pupils have had the opportunity to choreograph dance sequences in character, demonstrating musicality, emotion and creativity, aligned to multiple stimuli. Pupils will be required to utilise their current knowledge and understanding around choreography in order to create and perform complex dance sequences, using specific dance steps alongside accurate timing.

  • Pupils understand a variety of techniques to respond to a stimuli.
  • Pupils are able to develop motifs and use them effectively to build short dance routines.
  • Pupils show an awareness of a wide range of physical, choreographic and analytical skills concurrently.
