Islam: Beliefs and teachings

11 lessons

Description

In this unit pupils will learn about key beliefs in the worldview of Islam such as the nature of Allah, prophethood and the role of texts. They will gain a critical understanding of Islamic theology and key stories that underpin it.

This unit is situated here to allow pupils to approach the study of Islam having secured a detailed undertsanding of Christian beliefs and practices. Moving to Islamic beliefs now is appropriate as there are opportunities for building on ideas of God, prophethood and texts and seeing their relation in Islam. Pupils will be revising much of this content from key stage 3.
