Why this why now

Pupils have made progress in developing their creative practice, learning about their strengths. This unit which breaks up the two independent units with a more teacher led one, deepens the pupils skills within their endorsements. Through a series of short workshop activities, students explore further with a range of materials and techniques. They see how the different endorsements can use drawing for purpose in addition to their own specialist skills.

Prior knowledge requirements

  • Pupils should already have a basic understanding of the focus of their chosen endorsement
  • Pupils should know the key characteristics and expectations of their endorsement
  • Pupils should already have hands-on experience with a variety of art materials and processes
  • Pupils should have a working knowledge of the formal elements of art
  • Pupils should already have engaged in self-reflection and evaluation of their strengths and areas for development
  • Basic skills in researching and referencing artists, designers, and craftspeople relevant to their endorsement.
  • Pupils should have developed some degree of independent working habits
