Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Designers consider users from different social and cultural backgrounds.
  2. Designers consider different places.

Keywords

  • Context - the situation within which something exists or happen

  • User - who you are designing for

  • Environment - description of a place and its surroundings

  • Consideration - a key factor that designers use to help influence a design

Common misconception

When investigating a context you should only consider the users preferences.

There are many different groups of people from different places that should be considered when investigating a context. These different groups of people like stakeholders all have different preferences which the designer should consider.
