Key learning points
- In French, you change a statement into a question by raising your voice at the end. This is an intonation question.
- The verbs 'être' (to be) and 'avoir' (to have) are two important verbs to know in French. They are irregular.
- The verb 'parler' (to speak) is an -er verb. Other regular -er verbs follow the same verb endings pattern.
- In French, most adjectives go after the noun. These are postnominal adjectives.
- Adjectives must agree with the gender of the noun they describe: un vélo gris, une voiture grise.
Keywords

Teacher tip
For Task C2, split the class into different groups and use dice to play the verb board game. Pupils can take it in turns to roll the dice and say the verbs in English. The first to the end of the board is the winner.
