Key learning points
- Using a range of negative structures adds subtlety and complexity to descriptions and viewpoints.
- Indefinite adjectives are used to describe a noun and give more detail. They go before the noun they describe.
- When approaching extended writing tasks, dividing each bullet point into two paragraphs can be helpful.
Keywords
Conditional - a form of verb used to express what would happen
Negation - two elements e.g. ne ... pas around the main verb expressing negative meaning
Common misconception
An extended 150-word writing task should be planned as one complete task.
It is helpful to break down an extended writing task into two paragraphs and then to further break down those paragraphs. This allows students to manage the length of the task by treating it as four smaller connected tasks.
