- The weather describes the conditions of the outside world at any one time.
- The wind direction is the direction that the wind is coming from: a north wind blows from the north.
- The temperature is a measure of how hot or cold it is.
- Fresh water that falls to the ground from clouds can take different forms, such as rain, snow, hail or sleet.

Temperature - Temperature is the degree of hotness or coldness of a place.
Weather vane - A weather vane is a tool for showing from which direction the wind is blowing.
Common misconception
The weather for that day is constant.
Weather is constantly changing. It can change between hours or even minutes.
Ask them to look outside the window at the start and end of the lesson. Has the weather stayed the same or has it changed?
