Flight - when in the air, not touching the ground or any equipment
Jump - pushing off the ground or equipment with our legs to go up in the air
Turning - changing the direction your body is facing by rotating the body around a vertical axis
Common misconception
When jumping from apparatus, pupils may rush the jump and not be balanced before they take off. Pupils may land with stiff knees or poor body position.
Always check balance and engage the core before jumping. Ensure a solid stance before jumping. Pupils should bend their knees to absorb impact on landing and make sure their weight is centered over their feet.
