Keywords
Locomotion - moving from one place to another using different ways your body can move e.g. running, jumping, skipping, hopping and rolling
Levels - working at different heights from sliding along the floor to crawling and right through to bounding jumps
Balance - maintaining the centre of mass over the base of support to avoid falling over
Common misconception
Pupils always opt to perform the most simple movements. Pupils may not like performing in front of others.
Give pupils time to develop their movement ideas and be creative. Share creative ideas to improve the quality of movements. Encourage pupils to present in pairs to build up their confidence in performing to one another.
