Keywords
Vault - a technique used to quickly and efficiently clear an obstacle, typically by using the hands to assist the body over it
Thief vault - a dynamic and smooth movement used to pass an obstacle quickly by enabling a smooth exit and carrying speed
Fluid - a style of motion that is smooth, continuous and efficient, without unnecessary pauses or jolts
Common misconception
Pupils often take-off with the wrong foot when performing the thief vault or they take-off too close to the obstacle.
Work on take-off in isolation, focusing on taking-off with the outside foot and ensuring there is enough space between them and the obstacle to ensure continued flow through the vault.
