Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: running with an increased distance, yet maintaining a natural and consistent stride with each foot landing.
  2. Think: adapting training to meet your needs to ensure progression allows flexibility and makes training more specific.
  3. Feel: increasing the distance you run each session may feel tiring on the muscles and cardiovascular system.
  4. Connect: working in pairs to provide feedback on progression strategy shows responsibility.

Keywords

  • Adaptability - the ability to modify long-term planning to meet any new conditions that arise

  • Progression - gradually improving in performance over time

  • Feedback - knowing what went well and what could be better to improve performance

Common misconception

Pupils think if they are struggling to achieve the guided training in the app, they have failed and have to stop.

The app is flexible and can be adapted to individual needs and fitness levels. Even though it is set over 9 weeks you can complete it at your own pace and revisit weeks / runs if needed.
