Turning/roundhouse kick - a kick delivered by turning the body and pivoting on the supporting foot to strike the target with the heel or ball of the foot
Pad - a training tool used to absorb strikes during practice
Common misconception
Pupils hold the pads at the wrong height or angle or keep their arms too stiff or too relaxed.
Encourage pupils to communicate if the pads are at the wrong height or angle to give each other corrective feedback. Teach pad holders to “meet” the strike with slight forward pressure and a bend in the arms.
