Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Healthy families have rules to make things fair and kind.
  2. We should listen carefully to what our trusted adults say.
  3. We should contribute to our family life if we can.
  4. Parents and carers should provide the things that children need.
  5. We sometimes need to help our families.

Keywords

  • Fair - when everyone gets what they need

  • Responsibilities - the actions that we take to show care and respect for others

  • Role - the things we do to help other people

Common misconception

Parents and carers should do everything for a child.

Children will benefit if they contribute, in a proportionate way, to life at home. This will also often take the pressure off parents and carers, who are often busy.
