As Year 10 pupils mature, they develop a greater awareness of their physical health and the health and wellbeing of those around them. This unit builds on personal health knowledge by exploring organ and blood donation, as well as chronic illness. At this stage, pupils can understand more complex health conditions and the decisions relating to them.
Prior knowledge requirements
- Pupils should understand basic principles of physical health and how lifestyle choices affect personal wellbeing.
- Pupils should be familiar with accessing healthcare services from previous units.
- Pupils should know from earlier learning about respect, empathy and supporting others.
