﻿Hello, I'm Sarah, and today we're going to learn all about holidays. Now, I'd like to go on a holiday somewhere hot, like Hawaii. In Hawaii, they do a dance called the Hula dance. So, today we're going to learn all about holidays through the Hula dance. For this lesson, you will need your body being ready to move, a mirror to see yourself in. Press pause while you get things ready. Let's get ready. Find a quiet and clear space to work, away from distractions. Check you're comfortable and ready to begin learning. Make sure you are wearing clothes you can move in. Make sure your resources are nearby. Press pause while you get things ready. It's time to look, listen, learn. Now it's time for a bucket. And then next, it will be time to make a lei. But now it's time for a bucket. ♪ I've got something in my bucket ♪ ♪ In my bucket, in my bucket ♪ ♪ I've got something in my bucket ♪ ♪ I wonder what it is ♪ Oh. Look, a grass skirt. Let's wear it. What do you think? A grass skirt for Hula Dancing. A flower. Ready, steady, go. Ready, steady, go. A flower. Oh. Clapping hands. Clapping hands. Clapping me? Clapping you. Clapping hands. Clapping hands. I finished. I'll keep this skirt on. Bucket has finished. Now it's time to make a lei. Some string. Some flowers. Thread. One. Two. Three. Four. And five. Same on the other side. Thread it through. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Tie it together. Pop it on. I've made a lei. Making a lei has finished. Now it's time for a copy game. And next, it will be time to dance. But now it's time for a copy game. Before we start, make sure you have plenty of space around you, so you don't bump into anything. And check in with your body. Do you feel okay to be moving today? I know that I do. Are we ready? Steady, go. ♪ Copy me do, copy me do ♪ ♪ I do this stretch out wide, and you do it too ♪ Stretch out wide. Good job. ♪ Copy me do, copy me do ♪ ♪ I do this shake all your body, and you do it too ♪ Shake all your body. Very good. ♪ Copy me do, copy me do ♪ ♪ I do this wavy arms, wavy arms, and you it too ♪ Wavy arms, wavy arms. Very good. So, now it's time for us to learn our dance. Remember, before we start, make sure that you've plenty of space to move. Check in with your body again. Do I feel okay to be moving today? I know that I do. So we're going to learn a Kahola step, which is step with our legs. And then our Hula arm movements, some fishing arms and some wave arms. Let's get ready. Let's start with our Kahola steps. We're using our legs. So let's try the copying game that we did earlier. I'll have a go, then you'll have a go. Are we ready? Starting with our legs. Step together, step together. Step together, step together. Your turn. Step together, step together. Step together, step together. Very nice, let's try it again at the same time. Now it's time for us to learn some Hula dance arm movements. The Hula dance is all about telling stories, and Hawaii is right on the ocean. So let's use some fishing arms. We're going to pull in the nets, pull in the nets. And then the other way, pull in the nets, pull in the nets. Now your turn. One, two, three, four. Pull in the nets, pull in the nets. Pull in the nets, pull in the nets. Good work. Let's try it together, one, two, three, go. Pull in the nets, pull in the nets. Pull in the nets, pull in the nets. Good work. Pause the video and rewind if you want to practise. Resume once you're finished. Now, we're going to learn some more Hula dance arm moves. Remember, we said that Hawaii is right on the ocean. So we're going to do some wave arms now. Wave like the ocean, wave like the ocean. So you're moving your arms up and down, just like the waves. Should we try it again together?
