Shh Hi everybody, my name is Mr. Palekar and welcome back to our body percussion lessons.

This is lesson number five.

Just before the end, we are going to today be recapping our Bim Bum Biddy game.

We are going to learn a new song called "Say My Name." We are going to try to complete Mr. Palekar's Musical Challenge and finally, we are going to do a bit of Composing which means that we are going to start to create our very own body percussion piece.

For this lesson, you will need some headphones if you have any.

Now if you don't, don't worry, just make sure that you are somewhere nice and quiet where you can concentrate and that you won't be disturbed.

You'll need a pencil and some paper, if you would like to make any notes and finally you will need your hands and your bodies because after all, we are going to be learning about body percussion.

Let's get started.

Bim Bum Biddy.

Now hopefully you remember the piece from last lesson.

But don't worry if you don't, we're going to go through it together again.

Let me show you how it goes.

Mr. Palekar's musical challenge.

Now just like the last few lessons, I have a very special musical challenge for you, which is about reading the body percussion actions, to a bit of a backing track.

Let's take a look at those actions and see if we can remind ourselves of what they are.

So we have our four actions together, which are our, clap, a click, a pat on our knee, and a stamp on the ground.

We've also got some doubled actions.

So for a single beat, you could have two claps, so one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four.

You can have two clicks.

One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four.

You could have two pats.

One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four.

Or you could have two stamps.

One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four.

I hope you heard that.

And then finally, we have got this special symbol, which is a blank circle.

And that means that we don't make any music at all in those beats.

So we are silent.

Let's see if we can do an example together.

So remember, for this activity, you need to make sure you have some space around you that you're free to click, clap, pat, and stamp as well.

So if you need to pause the video to get into position, do that now.

I'm going to count you in when you all ready to start through, here we go.

We are going to use a method that we learned last lesson to help us to compose let's take a look at what that is.

Yes, of course it's our grid method.

With our composition what number are we going to pick first? How about number one, we'll have a big stamp.

Hopefully you are stamping a lot harder than I can.

Okay.

What other number, which other number should we use and what body percussion? How about number two? Okay, we'll go with number two and we'll put a click on it.

So let's have a go nice and slowly.

One, two, three, here we go.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
