Seasons are periods of similar weather. In the UK there are four seasons (spring, summer, autumn and winter).

A rain gauge is a device for measuring how much rain has fallen.

To measure is to find out the size of something or how much of something there is.

Summer is the hottest season of the year. Summer is the season after spring and before autumn.

A flower is the part of a plant that makes it able to make more flowers.

Temperature is how hot or cold something is.

A thermometer is a piece of equipment for measuring temperature.

Day length is how long it is light for during a day. This happens between sunrise and sunset.

Time tells you how long something takes to happen.
