In this Healthy me unit, pupils learnt the importance of eating the right amounts of different types of food. In the Healthy eating unit, they will build on this knowledge to learn that animals, including humans, need the right types and amounts of nutrition from what they eat

In the Human body parts unit, pupils learnt to identify, name, draw and label the basic parts of the human body. In this Healthy me unit, pupils will build on this knowledge to describe ways in which we can look after our bodies and explain why it is important to do so.

This unit covers the importance of exercise, balanced nutrition, and hygiene for humans. It involves performing simple tests, observing closely, and identifying and classifying information. Emphasis is on asking questions, using observations to suggest answers, and gathering and recording data.

The lung is an organ that some animals use to breathe. Mammals have two lungs.

A muscle is a part of our body that helps us to move.

Food gives living things energy and helps them to stay healthy.

Fat is found in foods like butter and cheese.

Something that is unhealthy is not good for your health.

A portion is the amount of food that is given to one person at a meal.

A nutritionist is a scientist who studies food and how it works in your body.

To observe is to look very closely and use other senses too.

A choice is the act of picking or choosing something.
