This unit teaches pupils about the causes and challenges of rapid urban growth. Pupils will learn about the trends and causes of urbanisationand will study how cities change over time.

Urban change

the birth rate minus the death rate in a population

a disadvantage of living in an area that creates a desire to migrate

an advantage of living in an area that attracts people to migrate there

a category of economic activity where jobs are grouped together based on their type of work

employment that is officially recognised and regulated
