Islam: Practices

11 lessons

Description

In this unit pupils will learn about specific practices in Islam such as prayer and festivals such as Id ul-Fitr. They will compare Sunni and Shi'a understandings of these practices noting similarities and differences.

This unit builds on the previous unit which looks at Islamic beliefs. Pupils will be able to use this understanding to make sense of practices such as prayer. They will make links between the concept of revelation and the festival of Id ul-Fitr. Studying this unit now will allow pupils to secure their understanding of Islam.
