Lesson details

Key learning points

  1. Move: keep the correct technique in bodyweight exercises to prevent discomfort and reduce injury risk.
  2. Think: overtraining can increase the chance of injuries like muscle strains, stress fractures and tendonitis.
  3. Feel: it is important to listen to your body and know when it is feeling tired or in pain to decrease or stop training.
  4. Connect: supporting others to complete a HIIT workout builds mutual respect.

Keywords

  • Muscle strain - an injury where a muscle is overstretched or torn

  • Fatigue - a state of feeling overly tired

  • Overuse injuries - damage to bones, muscles or tendons caused by repetitive stress or strain from activities without sufficient rest or recovery time

  • HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training consisting of short bursts of energy followed by periods of rest
