      Why this why now

This unit marks the culmination of pupils learning in primary school. They will utilise tools they have learnt about from social science such as analysing data. From this they will reach an understanding of the place of religion and belief in the UK, as well as addressing misconceptions about the place of religion globally. A focus on their locality will enable them to compile a report comparing where they live to the national picture.

      Prior knowledge requirements

      • Pupils will know what is meant by a worldview.
      • Pupils will know that the UK is a diverse place with many religious and non-religious worldviews.
      • Pupils will know we can find out more about worldviews by interviewing people.
