Pupils can build on and develop their understanding of global economic inequalities studied previously by focusing on Indonesia, an emerging country. They can further their understanding of industrial sectors (studied in KS3) and globalisation. Subsequently, pupils will use this knowledge when studying Jakarta later in the course.

Prior knowledge requirements

  • Pupils have locational knowledge of Indonesia and the wider world
  • Pupils understand the concept of economic development and of globalisation
  • Pupils can interpret maps, diagrams, graphs and photos
