Pupils explore how key democratic structures such as the justice system, the media and government operate across the globe and consider the impact this has on human rights and citizens ability to take action.

Learning how democratic systems work around the world builds on their knowledge of government and democracy within the UK. This unit provides a comparative perspective on different democratic practices and institutions. By exploring these concepts now, pupils can appreciate the diversity of democratic systems and critically consider the pros and cons of different democractic systems.
