Downloads can take a few minutes, especially for larger files or slower connections.

Threads

Why this why now

Pupils will already have experienced core gymnastics skills including balances, rotations, rolls and simple partner work. They will now improve their technical fluency, movement competence and awareness whilst also analysing group performances. Later they will explore rolling, flight and creative movement further through parkour and further develop their problem solving and analytical skills.

Prior knowledge requirements

  • Pupils know that high quality gymnastics requires good body awareness, balance and control.
  • Pupils understand how to work in larger groups to develop high quality routines.
  • Pupils are able to support one another to analyse and improve their gymnastics skills.
  • Pupils show a willingness to choreograph a routine incorporating a range of skills and a variety of balances individually, in pairs and as a group.
