Spreadsheets are a versatile tool used in a range of different contexts. As pupils reach the end of year 11 they will increasingly find more opportunities to use them in more complex ways. This unit will extend the basics of spreadsheets covered in previous units and provide pupils with the knowledge to build spreadsheets that will be robust and present data effectively. The culmination of the unit provides an opportunity for pupils to apply this understanding to a genuine scenario they may face when they leave school.

Spreadsheets

In this unit pupils will explore how to use spreadsheets to store and manipulate data. They will use common functions and extract data to create visual representations using charts. Pupils will use spreadsheets to track and calculate income, make predictions, and answer “what if…?” questions.
