Description

This unit teaches pupils about different energy resources, their extraction and uses. Pupils learn about the different types of energy, the factors affecting extraction and the patterns and inequalites associated with production and consumption. Pupils also learn about energy futures.

Pupils can build on their previous knowledge of global economic geography and the study of urbanisation to develop a better understanding of patterns and inequalities in global energy production and consumption. The placement of this unit towards the end of Year 11 reflects the high-level concepts that underpin this unit
