Description

This unit teaches pupils about geographical skills. Pupils will learn how to identify, describe and analyse atlas and OS maps at different scales. They will also learn how to construct and interpret photos, diagrams, graphs and thematic maps. Pupils will also learn numerical and statistical skills.

Pupils need to apply geographical skills throughout the course and this unit can be dipped into at any stage and as many times as necessary. This unit works well in association with the previous fieldwork unit as this is the most concentrated area of skills application in the GCSE course. In subsequent units, pupils can continue to practice their geographical skills.
