Description

This unit teaches pupils about the human geography of the UK. Pupils learn about population distribution, the location of cities and the impacts of migration. Pupils also learn about the role of the UK government and the EU and the importance of globalisation in the UK's changing economy.

Pupils can build on their previous locational knowledge of the UK from KS3 and begin to apply it to key economic themes, influenced by policies at home and abroad. This unit forms a solid foundation for further in-depth study of human geography in subsequent units.

  1. UK cities and population distribution
  2. Impacts of migration on the UK's population
  3. Changing economic sectors in urban and rural areas
  4. Economic impacts of globalisation
