KS2 French curriculum

This unit expands pupils' knowledge from singular to plural noun forms, and introduces essential knowledge of numbers 1-12 and the plural indefinite article 'some'. This extends pupils' communicative range, embedding many previously taught nouns, whilst enabling pupils to talk about more than one. Pupils also extend liaison to -s and -x, e.g., trois oranges, deux enfants, whilst reapplying knowledge of silent final consonants in plural noun final -s. In other units, pupils will build on number knowledge to communicate effectively about ages and dates.

• Pupils know the singular persons of the verb 'avoir' meaning to have, having.
• Pupils know between 20 and 30 common French nouns.
• Pupils know how to form an intonation question using raised tone of voice at the end.
