Description

This unit explores how land is used in the local area and across the UK. Pupils investigate human and physical features, farming, land use types and change, using aerial photos, maps and grid references to describe and compare landscapes.

This unit builds on pupils’ knowledge of their local area and UK geography by introducing how land is used and how it changes over time. Its placement supports progression from identifying features to analysing how human and physical processes shape landscapes at different scales.
