Description

This unit develops pupils’ fieldwork skills through an investigation of change in the local area. Pupils observe, measure, map and record evidence of change, gather local views, and begin to consider how places evolve over time.

This unit places fieldwork at the centre of pupils’ learning, giving them the tools to investigate real change in their local area. Its position builds on earlier work on settlements and mapping, and prepares pupils to ask questions, gather evidence and draw conclusions as geographers.
