Investigate and research: High profile event

10 lessons

Description

Pupils will identify a client and investigate the client's needs and wants. They will use and develop different research techniques. They will learn about the economic viability of designs to design a product for a high-profile event.

Knowledge of different research methods and the techniques to analyse the data collected is important for effective design. Pupils have knowledge of research from prior units, such as the Year 8 'Ergonomic controllers' and the Year 9 ' New parents'. The knowledge of an increasing range of research strategies learnt here will prepare pupils for independent selection of the most appropriate methods in subsequent iterative design units.
