Description

This unit focusses on developing technology and how it might impact people in the future. It takes a philosphical way of knowing to ask whether online relationships are the same as those in person. It questions whether devlelopments in AI and robotics may enhance or supplant personal relationships.

  • Pupils will understand the idea of consciousness and how many scientists and philosophers see it as central to being human.
  • Pupils will understand the concept of a soul in the Christian tradition.
  • Pupils will know that philosophers ask important questions about reality and being human.
  • Pupils will know that analysing arguments is a way of checking how logical they are.
