Description

This unit invites pupils to consider religious and non-religious responses to death. They will examine differing views. They will consider how the dead may be remembered through ritual or legacy. They will consider how attitudes are changing and the possibilities technology may offer in the future.

  3. Living on through works and memory
  4. Digital memory

  • Pupils will know that many Christians, Jews and Muslims believe in life after death.
  • Pupils will know that many Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs believe in the concept of reincarnation or rebirth.
  • Pupils will know the non-religious people may have different attitudes to death, but many will not believe in an afterlife.
  • Pupils will know that theologians ask questions about beliefs.
