Description

Pupils will analyse and critique a selection of western art movements and understand their wider historical relevance. Pupils will engage with practical tasks to gain an understanding of the defining techniques and materials used as well as writing a manifesto.

This unit broadens pupils understanding of how the movements connect with a wider historical context. The unit looks at key western art movements in more depth and with chronological awareness. It sets a backdrop for engaging with artworks and artists with more depth of understanding and taking part in analysis and discussions.
