Description

Pupils will explore architecture and the built environment, learning about form, volume, domestic and public buildings, cultural structures, and materials. Lessons will enhance understanding of architectural principles, appreciation for styles, and skills in perspective drawing and design.

This unit introduces pupils to the fundamental concepts and principles of architecture. Building on their existing art skills, pupils will learn to appreciate the built environment and understand the role of architecture in shaping our world. This unit promotes critical thinking, creativity, and an appreciation for cultural and historical contexts. It prepares pupils for more advanced art and design studies by encouraging them to explore complex forms and structures through both theoretical and practical approaches.
